Job description

Due to retirement, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, positive, and proactive Clinical Manager to join our "Outstanding" CQC-rated practice. We are a forward-thinking, well-established SystmOne practice that embraces innovation to improve patient outcomes and efficiency. You will be joining a strong management structure, working alongside our HR Manager, Practice Manager, Estates Manager, and incoming Business Manager, all supported by the Partners and an excellent team of clinical and administrative staff.

Main duties of the job

As Clinical Manager, you will provide clinicalleadership, supervision, and mentorshipto our multidisciplinary team.You will have direct line management responsibility for:

  • ClinicalLeads
  • ChronicDisease Nurse Specialists

You will support the designated leadsboth clinically and managerially who have responsibility for the Clinical Practitioners, Practice Nurses, NurseAssociates, Trainee Nurse Associates, and Healthcare Support Workers.

Your role will include:

  • Managing the delivery of effective and efficient healthcare,including medicines management, chronic disease management, wound care,travel health, child immunisation, and cervical cytology.
  • Providing clinical sessions in an area of interest.
  • Working closely with the Practice Manager to ensurehigh-quality, cost-effective patient care.

Job responsibilities

The post holder will lead and support ourclinical team while also actively participating in patient care through weeklyclinics. This dual-role position combines leadership, operational oversight,and hands-on clinical expertise to ensure high standards of care, effectiveteam performance, and exceptional patient experience.

Clinical practice

  • When consulting with patients, the Clinical Manager will ensure they, and the clinical teamthey manage
  • Assess, plan, develop, implement and evaluate treatment programmes thatpromote health and well-being
  • Proactively identify, diagnose and manage treatment plans for patients
  • Produce accurate, contemporaneous and complete records of patient consultation,consistent with legislation, policies and procedures
  • Work with other health care professionals to diagnose, monitor, manage and treatlong-term conditions, including using non-drug-based treatment methods, in linewith national and local policies and practice needs
  • Review medication for therapeutic effectiveness, appropriate to patient needs andin accordance with evidence based practice and national and practice protocols
  • Work with patients in order to support adherence to prescribed treatments
  • Ensure clinical practice has a person centre approach with goal based discussionsbeing important within consultations
  • Provide information and advice on prescribed or over-the-counter medication onmedication regimens, side-effects and interactions
  • Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately to assist the patient incomplex, urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergencycare
  • Support patients to adopt health promotion strategies that promote them to livehealthily, and apply principles of self-care

  • Experience of working in an MDT with professionals for other organisations eg statutory and voluntary
  • Experience of using and following infection control procedures
