Essential criteria
  • Significant professional knowledge and experience of clinical governance processes.
  • Evidence of on-going professional development
Desirable criteria
  • Clinical qualification.
  • Formal Qualification in related field Human Factors training.
Experience

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrable experience relating to clinical governance and patient safety
  • Experience of reviewing and leading Serious Incident review panels and Complaint investigations
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of implementing change in clinical practice
  • Sound understanding of the health and social care landscape, and the place of external partners in this landscape
Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrable ability to produce high quality concise reports and narratives, often within a tight timescale.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from a wide variety of disciplines.
  • Proven understanding of statutory and mandatory responsibilities regarding clinical governance, risk and complaints management
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of quality improvement and assurance principles and processes relevant to healthcare settings.
  • Proven ability to collate information from various sources and to summarise such information concisely.
  • Proven ability to deliver training requirements coherently and accurately.
  • Proven computer literacy skills in database use such as incident reporting, excel.
