Head Midwife/Nurse of Clinical Governance, Assurance and Compliance for Women's Health - Maternity and Gynaecology
We are seeking a qualified midwife or nurse to lead our efforts in enhancing the quality of care we provide, sharing our commitment to woman-centered, excellent care. The role involves a multidisciplinary approach to quality, with strong support from colleagues across Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Neonatology, and other Trust departments involved in patient safety, risk, effectiveness, QI, simulation, and compliance. Training in PSIRF, Human Factors, quality improvement, and Making Data Count is available for ambitious candidates eager to develop in this role.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will collaborate with clinicians, managers, and service users to ensure robust monitoring and improvement of patient safety, clinical effectiveness, patient experience, and risk management. The role includes supporting quality improvement initiatives where outcomes are suboptimal, overseeing compliance with standards such as CNST, Saving Babies Lives, Ockenden recommendations, Perinatal Quality Surveillance, NICE & RCOG guidelines, Antenatal and Newborn Screening standards, and HSIB recommendations. The post involves managing the governance and risk midwives team and working closely with senior leadership to meet regulatory standards.
