Job summary

Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Clinical Educator to contribute to the continued development of evidence-based nursing practice within the Musculoskeletal Care Group. The role provides educational support and acts as a resource for senior and junior staff and multidisciplinary team members, under a framework of clinical governance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain clinical practice and skills to enhance/ensure clinical competence of individuals and teams within the Musculoskeletal wards/departments.
• Assist in education and training within the Musculoskeletal Care Group and facilitate professional skills development.
• Provide support to a team of qualified staff, support staff and students in liaison with management.
• Support the clinical workload within the Musculoskeletal wards as required.
• Work with management to ensure high standards of nursing care delivered to diverse patients and relatives.

Job description

We have a vacancy for a Clinical Educator within the Musculoskeletal Care Group at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals.

The post holder will be involved in the continued development of evidence-based care nursing practice within the Musculoskeletal Care Group. They will use their expertise to provide educational support and act as a resource for senior and junior staff and members of the multidisciplinary team, demonstrating a commitment to nursing care philosophy through a framework of clinical governance.

To develop and maintain clinical practice and skills to enhance / ensure the clinical competence of individuals and teams in order to provide specialist care within the Musculoskeletal wards/departments.

Assist in the education and training within the Musculoskeletal Care Group and act as a resource to facilitate the development of professional skills.

Provide support to a team of qualified / support staff and students in liaison with the management team.

To support the clinical workload within the Musculoskeletal wards when required.

Work with the management team to ensure highest standard and quality of nursing care are effectively delivered to a diverse range of patients and relatives within the Musculoskeletal Care Group.

To act as a role model and teacher, providing mentorship and support, demonstrating exemplary practice to all members of the Multi-disciplinary Team.

• FTC due to the internal/external secondment of the substantive post holder

This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term contract basis for the maximum period of 12 months. Where there is potential, the secondment/fixed term contract may finish early, or in the first instance, the secondment/fixed term contract may be extended due to the internal/external secondment of the substantive post holder.

The fixed term contract status of the post holder will be reviewed in accordance with the Trust's legal obligations regarding fixed term contracts and secondments in relation to the substantive post holder.

Please note all existing NHS staff will only be considered on a secondment basis. This must first be agreed with your current line manager.
