Job summary
As a Specialist Clinical Coder, you will play a pivotal role in supporting coding operations and the team through training, mentorship, and audits. This multi-faceted role offers an exciting step into management within a supportive framework, engaging with a dedicated coding team and key clinical division contacts across various services.

Please note that an additional 10% of salary is paid for possessing the National Clinical Coding Qualification, on top of the 20% inner London HCAS.

Main duties of the job
The Specialist Clinical Coder will coordinate workload and resources across the team, supported by the Coding Team Manager, ensuring high-quality coding standards. Responsibilities include managing data flows, sickness and leave requests, conducting 1-1 reviews, and performing audits and work checks as part of the learning and development infrastructure.
Engagement with clinical divisions is crucial to ensure alignment between clinicians and coders, and to enhance understanding of coding requirements, its use, and importance. The role involves building good working relationships with clinical leads, attending clinical forums as needed, and providing an effective interface between clinical teams and the coding service.
