Job summary

As a Climate Change and Carbon Reduction Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of the Council's climate change, carbon reduction and sustainability ambitions. Working as part of the Carbon Reduction Team, you will help develop and implement initiatives that reduce carbon emissions, improve environmental performance and support sustainable communities across Wrexham County Borough.

This is a varied and rewarding role that requires someone who can work independently, manage multiple projects, and build positive relationships with colleagues, partners, businesses and local communities. We are looking for a candidate with a proven track record of successfully delivering projects from concept through to implementation, managing competing priorities, and achieving outcomes through effective partnership working. You will be a confident communicator who can engage, influence and inspire a wide range of stakeholders, helping to embed sustainability and climate action across the organisation and beyond.

You will have experience of developing productive working relationships, engaging communities and stakeholders, and securing support for new initiatives. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to drive projects forward with minimal supervision, overcome challenges, and deliver measurable outcomes that contribute to organisational goals.
