Job summary

Wrexham County Borough Council is seeking a proactive Communications and PR Officer to lead communications across the Environment and Technical Department. You will craft content for social media, websites and newsletters, promoting key projects and services while supporting campaigns and sharing positive department stories.

You will work with diverse teams to explain complex issues in a clear and accessible way, strengthening trust with residents and stakeholders and contributing to wellbeing

We're looking for a creative and proactive Communications and PR Officer to lead communications across our Environment and Technical Department. As the department's dedicated communications specialist, you'll help keep residents, stakeholders and elected members informed through clear, engaging and effective communications.

You'll create compelling content for social media, websites, newsletters and media releases, promote key projects and services, support communication campaigns, and identify opportunities to share positive stories from across the department. Working closely with a wide range of teams, you'll help explain complex issues in a simple and accessible way.

We're looking for someone with experience creating engaging content for different audiences and channels, alongside excellent writing, communication and organisational skills. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact, helping to raise awareness of important services, build trust with communities, and ensure residents understand how the department's work contributes to the quality of life and wellbeing of people across the county borough.
