Job summary

HSBC Group is offering a structured Commercial Banking programme in Reading. You will undertake two six-month placements in Product teams to learn how financial solutions are designed, priced and delivered, followed by a 12-month Coverage placement to support client relationships.

The programme emphasizes learning across product, credit and risk, with rotations through Legal, Risk and Operations to build practical banking knowledge and strong client-facing capabilities.

Qualifications

• 2:1 undergraduate degree (or international equivalent) or higher is expected.
• Studies expected to be completed by July 2027.
• Fluent in English.
• Legally permitted to work in the UK for the full duration of the programme, without HSBC visa sponsorship.
• Provide your final undergraduate degree result using your university grading system.

Responsibilities

• Analyze client and market data to identify trends and opportunities.
• Support product design and pricing discussions.
• Contribute to financial analysis and credit assessments.
• Collaborate with risk, legal and operations to support product delivery and controls.
• Understand client objectives and coordinate cross-functional expertise to balance needs with commercial returns.
