Job summary

HSBC Holdings plc is offering a 10-week internship in Relationship Management within the Commercial Bank in Reading. You’ll work with Relationship Managers and specialist teams to support clients, build understanding of their business and assist with presentations, reports and risk assessments.

You will learn to balance client needs, profitability and risk, gain exposure to Credit and Legal teams, and develop commercial awareness in a relationship-led environment.

Qualifications

• Eligibility: available to work full time for 10 weeks commencing June 2027.
• Must have completed studies by July 2028.
• On-track to obtain a minimum of a 2:1 undergraduate degree (or overseas equivalent).
• Be in your penultimate year of undergraduate study.
• Legally permitted to work in the UK for the full duration of the programme and beyond the end date, without HSBC visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• From day one, you’ll work with Relationship Managers and specialist teams to support Commercial Banking clients.
• Help build understanding of each client’s business, goals and challenges, and see how HSBC brings together the right expertise to respond.
• Support client presentations, reports and credit papers, help with strategic reviews and pitches, and carry out financial analysis and risk assessments on portfolios and transactions.
• Collaborate with colleagues across Legal, Credit and Risk to see how teams work together to deliver tailored solutions.
