Job summary

Wavelength Professional Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Client Manager for an independent Northampton accountancy practice. You will manage a varied client portfolio, plan assignments, and deliver statutory accounts, CT returns and management accounts with strong client relationships.

The role requires ACA/ACCA (or strong QBE) with experience in UK practice, FRS 102, and tax knowledge. Hybrid working, supportive team, and clear progression opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualified, though an experienced QBE with the right background will also be considered.
• Experienced in managing a portfolio of corporate clients within a UK accountancy practice.
• Technically confident, with a strong working knowledge of FRS 102 Section 1A.
• Knowledgeable in corporation tax and VAT.
• Comfortable reviewing accounts, tax returns and other work prepared by colleagues.
• An effective communicator who can build trusted relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Organised, dependable and able to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Supportive of junior colleagues and willing to share your knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Managing the workflow and delivery of work across your client portfolio.
• Planning assignments and ensuring deadlines are met.
• Reviewing draft statutory accounts, corporation tax returns and management accounts.
• Maintaining strong, positive relationships with clients.
• Acting as a key point of contact and providing practical support and advice.
• Keeping the directors informed of progress, deadlines and significant client matters.
• Supporting and developing junior members of the team.
• Sharing technical knowledge and encouraging best practice.
• Assisting the directors with advisory and tax-planning assignments.
• Contributing more widely to the team when required to maintain high standards of client service.
