Job description

Location: Hybrid - International travel to clients, Lancaster, London, Remote.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Client Implementation Project Manager / Engineer to lead and manage the implementation of security printing solutions for our clients. You will be responsible for successfully conducting print trials with prospective clients, as well as onboarding new clients to print Q-IDs at scale. This role involves overseeing the end-to-end project lifecycle, from initial client engagement and requirements gathering to successful delivery and on-going production support. The ideal candidate will have a blend of technical expertise in security printing technologies, software, strong project management skills, and the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships. This is the first role for this new team as we build out this function of the business.

Key Responsibilities

Client Engagement & Requirements Gathering:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle (print trials and client onboarding).
• Work closely with clients to understand their needs, business requirements, and project objectives.
• Ensure that all requirements are documented and clearly communicated to both the client and internal teams.

Project Planning & Execution:

• Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, resources, and budgets.
  Coordinate cross-functional teams (design, engineering, production) to ensure the successful execution of security printing projects.
• Manage project timelines, track deliverables, and ensure milestones are met on time and within budget.
• Lead and facilitate project meetings, providing updates to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and security printing industry standards.

Technical Implementation & Problem-Solving:

• Oversee the implementation of Q-IDs into security printing factories and the client’s production process.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any technical challenges during the implementation process, collaborating with engineering and production teams. This will be both printing and software.
• Conduct risk assessments and identify mitigation strategies to ensure smooth project delivery.

Client Training & Support:

• Provide technical guidance and training to clients on the operation and maintenance of Quantum Base’s systems.
• Ensure that clients are equipped with the knowledge and tools needed for post-project support.
• Offer and coordinate ongoing post-implementation support to address any issues or enhancements.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation:

• Contribute to the development of best practices and internal processes to enhance project delivery and customer satisfaction.

Key Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical field (or equivalent work experience).
• Proven experience (3+ years) in project management and/or engineering roles within the security printing industry, or a closely related field (e.g., packaging, anti-counterfeiting).
• Strong technical knowledge of security printing technologies and techniques (e.g., litho/flexo, variable data printing, machine vision systems etc).
• Experience in managing client relationships and delivering complex, high-value projects.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to adapt to evolving client needs.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with a proven track record of meeting deadlines and client expectations.
• Familiarity with compliance standards and regulatory requirements in security printing (e.g., ISO standards).
