Job summary

Kelling Group is seeking a Hire Controller to be a key part of our team across the UK. You’ll be the friendly first point of contact for customers, helping source the right equipment and ensuring smooth operations from enquiry to off-hire.

You’ll manage bookings, contracts, and coordinate with drivers and depot teams, building strong customer relationships and resolving issues quickly to keep operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ experience in a hire desk or customer service environment.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, target-driven role.
• A confident communicator, both on the phone and in writing.
• Highly organized with great attention to detail.
• A genuine team player who enjoys collaborating across departments.
• Self-motivated, flexible, and happy to roll up their sleeves.
• Strong IT skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Managing hire enquiries via phone, email, and our internal systems.
• Acting as a trusted, approachable point of contact for customers.
• Preparing and maintaining accurate hire contracts and documentation.
• Building strong relationships and really understanding customer requirements.
• Keeping customers updated and resolving issues quickly and professionally.
• Working closely with drivers, depot, sales, and operations teams.
• Developing strong product knowledge to recommend the right solution every time.
• Supporting the sales team and their customers when required.
