Job summary

Saffery LLP is seeking an Accounts Manager to join our growing Accounts team. This client-facing role blends compliance with advisory work for a diverse client base, from sole traders to charities.

You will supervise year-end statements, manage ad-hoc projects, review VAT, and coach junior staff. ACCA/ACA qualified candidates with practice experience and strong numeracy will thrive in this fast-paced environment, with a hybrid working policy and training support.

Qualifications

• ACCA/ACA qualified and demonstrable experience of working in practice.
• Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
• Excellent knowledge of Excel and Word; familiarity with other accounting systems is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the preparation of year-end financial statements.
• Take ownership of ad-hoc advisory projects.
• Work planning and annual timetabling, ensuring junior team timetables are met.
• Review VAT returns and supervise the preparation of management accounts.
• Support financial management and cross-departmental communication.
• Build and maintain client relationships; coach and develop junior team members.
