Job summary

Saffery LLP in Bristol seeks an ACA/ACCA/AAT qualified (or by experience) Accounts Senior Associate/Assistant Manager to handle a varied client base, including partnerships, trusts and small companies. The role covers year-end compliance, ad-hoc advisory and client management within a supportive team.

The position requires strong numeracy, Excel/Word skills and familiarity with accounting systems (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, Farmplan, CCH AP). Bristol office with hybrid working options.

Qualifications

• Preferably ACA/ACCA or AAT qualified with experience in practice.
• Experience handling partnerships, trusts, sole traders and small to mid-sized companies.
• Strong numeric and analytical ability with proficiency in accounting software.
• Good working knowledge of Excel and Word required.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of year-end financial statements
• Taking ownership of ad-hoc advisory projects
• Review of work prepared by other team members
• Assisting managers with a large portfolio of accounts and bookkeeping clients
• Assisting clients with VAT and bookkeeping queries, including setup of accounting systems
• Training and supporting colleagues
• Work planning and annual timetabling
• Billing and financial management
• Building and maintaining client relationships
• Experience with accounts production software such as CCH or equivalent
