Salary: Up to £100,000.00 (depending on experience) plus bonus potential

Working hours: 37.5 hours per week

About The Role

Lloyd & Whyte, part of Benefact Group, is seeking a Client Director to join our Direct Corporate Risks team.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing an existing book of business and attracting new clients, primarily within the Waste, Construction, or Haulage and Logistics sectors. Sector expertise is preferred but not essential.

You will provide an exceptional service experience to our clients, emphasizing market-leading products and expertise.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Deliver comprehensive Commercial insurance services to current and prospective clients.
  2. Develop technical and industry expertise in targeted sectors, using this knowledge to create tailored product propositions.
  3. Provide market-leading risk management services, especially related to motor fleet risks.
  4. Collaborate with your direct report to set and achieve sales forecasts, targets, plans, and budgets.
  5. Monitor performance and provide feedback to the Sales Director.
  6. Generate leads through various channels including LinkedIn, cold calling, and partnerships, supplemented by business-provided leads.
  7. Work closely with account handling and claims teams to ensure high service standards.
  8. Identify and implement corrective actions when performance deviates from targets.
  9. Maintain a professional and expert brand image internally and externally.
  10. Support marketing activities, including content provision and industry event participation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
  1. Understanding of principles, practices, and legalities of Commercial Insurance, especially Motor Fleet, Liability, and Freight Liability.
  2. At least 5 years of experience in the UK Commercial Insurance market.
  3. Experience in risk assessment across major commercial classes, including Fire, Business Interruption, Liability, and Motor Fleet.
  4. Knowledge of industrial processes, security, health & safety legislation, and risk management.
  5. Familiarity with targeted industry sectors.
  6. Understanding of FSA regulations for dealing with commercial clients.
  7. Strong report writing, presentation, and sales techniques.
  8. Ability to assess budgets and manage credit procedures.
  9. Cert CII qualification is desirable.
