Key duties include booking appointments, handling enquiries, cash handling, and diary management while collaborating with clinical and non‑clinical teams to ensure a positive client and patient journey.

We are seeking an organised, personable Receptionist to join our team at Oakham Vets on a part-time permanent basis.

You’ll be joining an experienced team of 8 Veterinary Surgeons, including certificate holders, alongside a nursing team of 15 and an existing team of 8 non-clinical support staff.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients, playing a key role in delivering a welcoming, professional and compassionate experience at every interaction.

You’ll support the smooth running of the practice by managing appointments, handling enquiries, supporting client communications and working closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to ensure a positive client and patient journey.

Working Pattern

• 30 hours per week, shift pattern to be agreed but to include 8pm finish on Tuesdays, full day 8.30-6.30 Fridays and cover for Saturdays on a rota basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Liaising with the clients and the clinical staff to provide a high level of customer care.
• Meeting and greeting clients and pets.
• Booking appointments and diary management.
• Managing telephone and email enquiries.
• Taking payment for services and products.
• Managing cash and end-of-day banking.
• Maintaining a clean and safe space for our clients and their pets.
• Support with daily banking and debt management processes
