Job description

Forward thinking accountancy practice is currently seeking a Client Accountant to join their Reigate-based company in a client-facing, comprehensive role within this growing general practice.

Role Overview

The Client Manager will handle a portfolio of dedicated clients, acting as the first point of contact for queries, handling accounts preparation, and assisting junior team members.

Candidate Profile

The ideal Client Accountant will have similar experience in a client-facing role, be an excellent communicator, and in return, will enjoy a great atmosphere, competitive benefits, and potential progression to partner.

Responsibilities

1. Preparation of company and sole trader financial statements
2. Serving as a point of contact for clients, offering advice
3. Handling all aspects of accounting up to and including monthly management accounts
4. Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns
5. Preparation of self-assessment returns for directors, self-employed, partnerships, and rental properties
6. Preparation of corporation tax returns
7. Liaising with clients and providing advice on various matters
8. Ensuring compliance for clients

Qualifications & Experience

• Qualified with ACCA / ACA / QBE (considered)
• 3+ years of proven experience in a client-facing role within public practice
• Strong communication skills and ability to handle all client types
• Good working knowledge of Excel and Word; experience with Xero and Taxcalc preferred but not essential

Additional Details

• Full-time position, with the possibility of 4 days per week for the right candidate
• Hybrid working (1 day in the office)
