Job summary

ABM Facility Services UK is seeking a Cleaning/Waste Operative in Darlington. This full-time role operates on a 4 on/4 off cycle with 12-hour shifts (11 paid), 38.5 hours per week, with a competitive pay rate.

You will provide janitorial and waste removal services across welfare areas, offices, and production zones, using sweepers and scrubber-dryers, while maintaining safety and equipment. Training will be provided to cover all cleaning methods.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physically fit and able to perform demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties in welfare areas, production areas and offices.
• Handle waste using approved streams and prepare for transport.
• Operate cleaning equipment (sweepers, scrubber-dryers) and maintain equipment.
• Respond to spills and client callouts on site.
• Communicate effectively with team and line manager, follow PPE and Health & Safety policies.
• Undergo full training in cleaning methods and equipment.
