Job summary

ABM Facility Services UK are recruiting Cleaning/Waste Operatives for a full-time position at a high-profile client in the Wynyard area. The role involves janitorial duties, waste handling, and using sweepers and scrubbers in a warehouse environment.

You will work 4 on 4 off with 38.5 hours per week, on a fixed-term 12-week contract, earning £12.94 per hour. Applicants must be physically fit, able to work alone or in a team, and comply with health and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Satisfactory response from Disclosure Board at a basic level and knowledge of health and safety requirements, or willingness to learn.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods or willingness to learn.
• High attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to adapt quickly to a busy operational environment.
• Reliable and flexible approach to work.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Physically fit for active role.

Responsibilities

• Carry out janitorial and waste removal duties in a warehouse environment.
• Provide high janitorial service in welfare areas, such as washrooms, break rooms and canteen, and in production/office spaces.
• Handle waste with approved streams and prepare for transportation.
• Operate walk-behind and ride-on sweepers and scrubber-dryers; keep equipment clean and safe.
• Respond to spillages and client callouts on site.
• Communicate effectively with team and line manager.
• Wear PPE and comply with health and safety policies.
• Undergo full training on cleaning methods and equipment.
