Job summary

Amey is recruiting a Cleaning Team Leader for the Barnsley Schools Account at Horizon Community College, on-site in Barnsley. The role offers 25 hours per week with a 5-hour daily pattern, and a salary of £14.12 per hour.

You will supervise cleaners, conduct audits, manage stock and safely operate equipment while promoting high standards of cleanliness and service.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning operations and team supervision is preferred.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Customer service mindset and positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Supervise cleaners within your team, carrying out basic people management activity.
• Carry out bi- weekly cleaning audits for internal improvements.
• Control stock levels and order consumables to ensure service delivery through the correct channels.
• Operate machinery safely and in line with guidelines and training provided.
• Train cleaners in Amey way modules including 6 monthly refreshers.
• Resolve any concerns or issues raised by team members or elevate to your people manager if you are not able to.
• Carry out any reasonable requests that are directed by your line manager.
• Responsible for ensuring H&S standards are achieved across the contract.
• Support local and business zero carbon programmes as applicable.

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Cleaning Team Leader to Join our Barnsley Schools Account in Horizon Community College, Dodworth Road, Barnsley S70 6PD - This role will be based on site.

The salary is£14.12 per hour

The hours of work will be 25 hours per week - 5 hours per day Monday - Friday. This role will offer flexible working (shift pattern to be discussed in interview)

Amey provides facilities and estate management services to the Barnsley Schools Private Finance Initiative across 11 schools, ensuring high-quality, safe, clean, and compliant learning environments for teachers and students. They work in partnership with clients and end-users to deliver 24/7 services to the highest standard with minimal disruption to the schools' daily operations.

What you will do:
