Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a Cleaning Operative to join the team at Thermo Fisher Crawley, Bishop's Stortford. You will keep client environments clean, safe and welcoming by following established procedures and hygiene standards. Full training will be given to use the required cleaning products and equipment.

You'll work as part of a team, handle routine duties, and support specialist site requirements while upholding health and safety guidelines and client expectations.

Qualifications

• Experience working as part of a cleaning team.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Experience working in a standards or compliance environment.
• A strong understanding of hygiene, safety and cleanliness.
• The ability to follow procedures and site requirements.
• A proactive approach and good attention to detail.
• A willingness to complete all required training.

Responsibilities

• Clean allocated areas efficiently to required standards.
• Follow cleaning procedures and site rules.
• Use cleaning chemicals safely and in line with COSHH.
• Operate cleaning equipment after training.
• Report faulty equipment and hazards promptly.
• Maintain cleaning stores, stock levels and uniforms.
• Attend required training and meetings.
• Provide cover in other areas when requested.

Join Sodexo as a Cleaning Operative, where you'll play an important role in maintaining clean, safe and welcoming environments for our clients and customers.

You'll be responsible for cleaning and servicing your allocated areas to the standards required by both Sodexo and the client. You'll work as part of a team, following established procedures and maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety and compliance.

Full training will be provided to ensure you're confident using the required equipment, materials and cleaning products.

What you'll do

• Clean your allocated areas efficiently and to the required standards, including weekly and periodic tasks
• Follow cleaning procedures, site rules and relevant client requirements
• Use cleaning chemicals safely and in line with COSHH requirements
• Safely operate cleaning equipment following appropriate training
• Report faulty equipment immediately and ensure it is not used
• Use appropriate safety signage, including wet floor signs
• Keep cleaning stores clean, tidy and equipment stored safely
• Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and appearance, including wearing the required uniform
• Monitor cleaning stock levels and report when supplies need replenishing
• Report hazards and potential Health & Safety concerns to your Supervisor or Manager
• Attend required training courses and meetings
• Provide cover in other areas during sickness and holidays when requested
• Follow Sodexo policies, client site rules and statutory Health & Safety requirements
• Comply with site GMP and GxP practices, SOPs and required training
• Complete mandatory training within the required timescales
• Report and take appropriate action in the event of accidents, fire, theft, loss, damage or other incidents
• Respond positively to reasonable management requests

What you'll bring

• Experience working as part of a cleaning team

• A willingness to complete all required training

COSHH training is required.

NVQs, BICSc or COPC qualifications would be beneficial.
