Job summary

Sodexo Ltd is seeking a Cleaning Operative to join our team in a busy school environment. You’ll help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming space for pupils, staff and visitors.

Carry out daily cleaning across classrooms, corridors and washrooms, follow schedules, safely use equipment and report maintenance needs promptly. A reliable, professional approach and good attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential
• A reliable, professional and responsible approach to work
• Good attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Commitment to following Health & Safety and cleaning procedures
• Understanding of the importance of maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries within a school environment

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily cleaning duties across classrooms, corridors, communal areas, washrooms and other school facilities
• Follow agreed cleaning schedules and ensure all areas are maintained to a high standard
• Safely use cleaning equipment and products in line with procedures
• Maintain high standards of hygiene throughout the school
• Empty bins and dispose of waste appropriately
• Replenish cleaning and hygiene supplies when required
• Report any maintenance issues, hazards or concerns promptly
• Follow all Health & Safety, COSHH and school-specific procedures
• Work as part of a team to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming learning environment

You’ll play an important role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the school, helping to provide a safe, welcoming and well-presented environment for pupils, staff and visitors.
