Job summary

ABM is seeking a Relief Cleaning Operative in London to cover day shifts (7:00 am–4:00 pm) with flexibility for night shifts (10:45 pm–6:45 am) across multiple sites, ensuring high cleaning standards and client satisfaction.

You will perform general cleaning duties, follow COSHH safety rules, report issues, and help maintain clean, safe environments while representing ABM professionally.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning experience in a commercial, office, retail, healthcare, or educational environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good attention to detail.
• Reliable, flexible, and punctual.
• Good communications skills.
• Ability to travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general cleaning duties including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping floors.
• Dusting and wiping surfaces; emptying bins and disposing of waste.
• Clean toilets, washrooms, and replenish consumables; clean kitchens and staff areas.
• Sanitising high-traffic areas and touchpoints.
• Follow cleaning schedules and safety instructions; report issues to management.

Shift Pattern:

Monday - Friday day shift 7:00 am to 4:00 pm and night shift 10:45 pm to 6:45 am

35 hours per week

PAY RATE: £15.67 per hour

ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE

The role currently involves day shifts from 7:00am to 4:00pm, with flexibility to work night shifts from 10:45pm to 6:45am as required. Applicants must be comfortable and willing working both day and night shifts.

To provide high-quality cleaning services across various sites, covering staff absences, holidays, sickness, andadditionalcleaning requirements. The Relief Cleaning Operativeis responsible formaintainingclean, safe, and hygienic environments while ensuring company standards and client expectations are met.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Carry out general cleaning duties including:
• - Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors.
• - Dusting and wiping surfaces.
• - Emptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately.
• - Cleaning toilets, washrooms, and replenishing consumables.
• - Cleaning kitchens, staff areas, and communal spaces.
• - Sanitisingtouchpoints and high-traffic areas.
• Clean 5 bedrooms andensuite bathrooms.
• Follow cleaning schedules and work instructions.
• Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely andin accordance withCOSHH regulations.
• Report maintenance issues, accidents, damages, or health and safety concerns to management.
• Ensure all work is completed to the required quality standards.
• Lock and secure premises whererequired.
• Maintain stock levels of cleaning supplies and report shortages.
• Provide excellent customer service and represent the company professionally.

Health & Safety

• Comply withall company health and safety policies and procedures.
• Wearappropriate PPEwhenrequired.
• Ensure safe storage and handling of cleaning chemicals.
• Report incidents, hazards, and near misses promptly.

Skills and Experience
