Job summary

South Staffordshire Learning Partnership is seeking a dedicated part-time Cleaner for Codsall Community High School. You will join the premises team to clean designated areas, ensuring hygiene and safety across the school environment.

The role requires reliability, punctuality and flexibility, with DBS clearance as part of safeguarding. Hours are term-time plus stand-down hours, with 10 or 15 hours weekly, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar environment is desirable but not essential.
• Awareness of health & safety and hygiene standards.
• Reliable, punctual and flexible approach to work.
• Right to Work in the UK and willingness to undergo a DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Clean designated areas to maintain a hygienic condition.
• Routine cleaning including vacuuming, mopping, waste disposal, damp dusting, machine cleaning floors and polishing.
• Periodic cleaning during stand down in school closures as directed by Cleaning Supervisor.
• Cleaning of fixtures, fittings and stripping and resealing of hard floors.
• Cleaning of toilet facilities and related tasks to achieve high cleanliness.
• Use of appropriate cleaning equipment and machinery.
• Ensuring safe use of chemicals, machinery and equipment in line with health and safety policies.

The Partnership wish to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated and dedicated cleaners to join the premises team. You will be responsible for the cleaning of premises and furnishings, under the direction of the Cleaning Supervisor. This is an exciting opportunity to work in an educational environment and join our hard‑working, friendly team, ensuring the smooth operation within our partnership of schools.

The role will include:

• To undertake, as a part of a team and under supervision, the cleaning of designated areas to ensure they are maintained in a clean, hygienic condition
• Routine cleaning of premises and furnishings in all rooms including vacuuming, mopping, waste disposal, damp dusting, machine cleaning floors and polishing
• Periodic cleaning of premises during stand down in school closures as directed by Cleaning Supervisor
• Cleaning of fixture, fittings and stripping and resealing of hard floors.
• Cleaning of toilet facilities and associated tasks required to achieve a high quality of cleanliness.
• The use of appropriate cleaning equipment and machinery.
• Ensuring the safe use of chemicals, machinery and equipment when carrying out the cleaning function in line with current legislation, standards and County Council policies and procedures for Health and Safety and in accordance with training provided.
