Overview

Cleaning Supervisor – Codsall Community High School

Employer: WMJobs. Location: Codsall, Staffordshire (postcode WV8 1PQ).

Grade 5, £13.47 per hour, term time only plus 2 weeks. Mon-Fri 10 hours per week, 2 hours per day. Actual salary £6,379.75 per annum. Closing Date: 9am Monday 3rd November 2025.

To work under the direction of the Site and Buildings Manager to direct the cleaning staff of the Partnership Schools. The post holder will plan and prioritise their own work load and that of both cleaning teams without direct supervision.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and direct staff to ensure that cleaning is in accordance with Partnership standards and specifications.
  • Communicate necessary instructions, policies and procedures to the cleaning staff.
  • Hold return to work discussions.
  • Ensure that additional hours claims forms are submitted at the end of each month.
  • Timetable annual clean down hours.
  • Attend and participate in regular meetings with the SSLP Teams.
  • Ensure that the cleaning team is competent by reviewing training and development needs for individuals.
  • Plan and deliver training sessions to the cleaning team and individuals.
  • Recognise strengths and areas of expertise and use these to advise and support others.
  • Undertake necessary training as required. Training records for all staff are kept and up to date.
  • Create ‘cleaning areas’ for cleaning staff.
  • Ensure that the workload of all staff is distributed in accordance with working hours.
  • Site Security: may be required to unlock and secure premises at agreed times and maintain keys in their possession.
  • Maintenance and Cleaning: create and maintain a productive and orderly working environment; with the Finance Team, manage and order cleaning equipment and supplies ensuring sufficient stocks, stock rotation and availability, minimisation of chemical wastage.
  • Report faulty equipment and other maintenance requirements to the Senior Site Supervisor.
  • Remove spillages and resultant stains from floors and other surfaces; dispose of waste materials in a safe, hygienic manner and support recycling as part of the school ethos.
  • Perform other duties at a comparable level of responsibility including those of other members of the team.
  • Present a positive image of self, team and others.
