Job summary

Hodgson Academy in Poulton-le-Fylde is seeking a School Cleaner to join our premises team. The role is permanent with shift patterns 6.00am-9.00am or 3.00pm-6.00pm, supporting a clean and safe learning environment.

You will be responsible for cleaning duties across designated areas, maintaining hygiene standards, and assisting with events as needed. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to safeguarding and a positive school experience.

Responsibilities

• sweeping, vacuuming, mopping floors, and emptying litter bins across designated school areas.
• cleaning and polishing surfaces, fixtures, fittings, changing rooms, toilets, and shower facilities.
• operating appropriate powered cleaning equipment such as buffing machines or scrubber dryers.
• maintaining equipment and ensuring cleaning materials and disposables are safely replenished.
• reporting any maintenance issues, damages, or safety concerns directly to the Site Manager.
• assisting with deep cleans and preparation for special academy events like Open Evenings.
• supporting colleagues and maintaining strict health, safety, and safeguarding procedures across the site.

Our Premises department is collaborative, hard-working, and focused on maintaining high quality standards across the whole site. You’ll be joining a supportive team dedicated to creating a clean and safe learning space for every pupil.

A day in your new role could see you:-
