Job summary

The Basildon Upper Academy is seeking a hard-working cleaner to join the cleaning department. The role is term-time (39 weeks) with a daily shift from 15:45 to 18:45.

Salary is National Minimum Wage, with potential extra weeks during holidays for deep cleans and additional hours to cover absences. The successful candidate should be reliable, punctual and able to work independently or as part of a team, with good attention to detail and awareness of Health & Safety procedures.

Job description

We are currently looking to appoint a hard-working and reliable cleaner to our cleaning department at the Basildon Upper Academy.

Salary Range: National Minimum Wage

Working Weeks: 39 weeks (term time)

Working Hours: 1545-1845 Monday - Friday

Additional weeks may be available during the school holidays for deep cleans and summer school. There also may be additional hours available to cover absences within the cleaning team.

The successful candidate will be:

• Reliable, punctual and trustworthy
• Have the ability to work both alone and in a team
• Someone with a good eye for detail who takes pride in their work
• Have a good level of fitness due to the nature of the role
• Have an awareness of Health & Safety procedures
• Previous cleaning experience desirable but not essential

Duties will include cleaning a specified area of the school to a high standard, performing periodical checks, and ensuring that relevant school policies and procedures are adhered to.
