Job summary

The Basildon Lower Academy in England is seeking a reliable cleaner to join our cleaning department. This term-time position is 39 weeks per year, with a fixed maternity cover, and runs Monday to Friday from 15:45 to 18:45.

Additional weeks may be available during school holidays for deep cleans. The successful candidate will be punctual, able to work alone or in a team, and take pride in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.

Job description

We are currently looking to appoint a hard-working and reliable cleaner to our cleaning department at the Basildon Lower Academy.

Salary Range: National Minimum Wage

Working Weeks: 39 weeks (term time) - 1 Year Fixed (Maternity Cover)

Working Hours: 1545-1845 Monday - Friday

Additional weeks may be available during the school holidays for deep cleans and summer school. There also may be additional hours available to cover absences within the cleaning team.

The successful candidate will be:

• Reliable, punctual and trustworthy
• Have the ability to work both alone and in a team
• Someone with a good eye for detail who takes pride in their work
• Have a good level of fitness due to the nature of the role
• Have an awareness of Health & Safety procedures
• Previous cleaning experience desirable but not essential

Duties will include cleaning a specified area of the school to a high standard, performing periodical checks, and ensuring that relevant school policies and procedures are adhered to.
