Job summary

The Basildon Lower Academy is hiring a hard-working cleaner to join our cleaning department. Hours are 09:00–14:00, Monday to Friday, term-time with potential extra weeks during holidays for deep cleans or to cover absences.

The role requires reliability, punctuality and a good eye for detail; you will work both alone and as part of a team, with a focus on maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and adherence to health & safety procedures.

• Previous cleaning experience desirable but not essential.

Job description

We are currently looking to appoint a hard-working and reliable cleaner to our cleaning department at the Basildon Lower Academy.

Salary Range: National Minimum Wage

Working Weeks: 39 weeks (term time)

Working Hours: 0900-1400 Monday - Friday

Additional weeks may be available during the school holidays for deep cleans and summer school. There also may be additional hours available to cover absences within the cleaning team.

The successful candidate will be:

• Reliable, punctual and trustworthy
• Have the ability to work both alone and in a team
• Someone with a good eye for detail who takes pride in their work
• Have a good level of fitness due to the nature of the role
• Have an awareness of Health & Safety procedures
• Previous cleaning experience desirable but not essential

Duties will include cleaning a specified area of the school to a high standard, performing periodical checks, and ensuring that relevant school policies and procedures are adhered to.
