Job summary

Askam Village School in the United Kingdom is seeking a part-time Cleaner (7.5 hours per week) to join our friendly team and help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

Training will be provided; no prior experience is essential. You will work Monday to Friday, 3:30pm–5:00pm, during term time only, with pro-rata salary alignment to the living wage. The role requires an enhanced DBS check and good references.

• We are looking to recruit a flexible, enthusiastic person to deliver a high standard of cleaning in line with the onsite cleaning specification.
• Previous cleaning experience is not essential, as full training will be given.

• Maintain and arrange orderly and secure storage of supplies.
• Ensure cleanliness of equipment, check for quality and safety - reporting any faults to an appropriate senior person.
• Operate everyday equipment in accordance with instructions.
• Maintain specialist equipment, check for quality and safety and report damage to the appropriate person.
• Ensure compliance by self and others with all health and safety policies and procedures.
• Ensure safe use by self and others of equipment and materials.
• Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and productive working environment.
• Promote and ensure the health and safety of pupils, staff and visitors.

Askam Village School is a friendly and welcoming school where 'Everybody Matters and Every Moment Counts'. There are currently 183 children on roll from Nursery to Year 6.

Pro-rata salary £25,949 annual full-time starting salary, pro rata £3,934 £13.45 hourly rate (UK Living Wage)

Hours of working Monday to Friday 3.30pm-5pm (term-time only)
