Job summary

Aldercar High School is seeking a Cleaner to perform a range of cleaning duties in line with standards and schedules. You will operate vacuum cleaners, floor machines, steam cleaners and carpet cleaners, with a focus on safety and hygiene.

The role is 15 hours per week, 3:00pm–6:00pm, Monday to Friday during term time (39 weeks per year). The successful candidate will work under the Site Manager as part of a small team and may require safeguarding checks.

Qualifications

• Experience in performing cleaning tasks in a working environment.
• Basic literacy skills to follow written instructions.
• Awareness of safe working practices.
• Good work ethic, time management and reliability.
• Ability to work well as part of a team.
• Willingness to undertake relevant training.
• Desirable: Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
• Desirable: NVQ Level II in Cleaning or willingness to work toward it.

About the Role

As a Cleaner, you will carry out a range of cleaning duties in line with agreed standards and schedules. This includes the safe and effective use of cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor machines, steam cleaners and carpet cleaners, as well as the safe handling of cleaning chemicals. You will work as part of a small, supportive team under the direction of the Site Manager.

This role is for 15 hours per week, working 3:00pm to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday, during term time only (39 weeks per year).
