Job summary

Kirk Hallam Community Academy is seeking a part-time Cleaner to join our facilities team. The role runs 3:30pm–6:30pm, 15 hours per week during term time only, with a Scale 1, Point 3 salary.

You will work as part of a busy school environment—vacuuming, washroom cleaning, sweeping, mopping, dusting, window cleaning and bin emptying. An enhanced DBS check is required.

Job description

Role: Cleaner
Salary: Scale 1, Point 3 (£8,916 actual per year, £13.28 per hour)
Contract: Permanent, part time (15 hours per week) term time only
Closing Date: Monday 2nd November 2026 at 8am

Our cleaners work as part of a team in a busy school environment at the end of the school day, undertaking general cleaning duties such as vacuuming, washroom cleaning, sweeping, mopping, dusting, window cleaning, emptying bins, wiping of furniture and occasional use of electrical cleaning machinery.

The role is term-time only (39 weeks) following our school term dates pattern. The start time is 3.30pm and end time 6.30pm.
