Job summary

Sodexo Group is hiring a Cleaner for Victoria House, Hampshire Court, Newcastle upon Tyne. The role requires early shifts (06:30–08:30), 12.5 hours per week, and a positive, professional approach to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for residents and staff.

Applicants must be aged 18 or over and able to provide valid photo ID. Training will be provided to ensure high standards of cleanliness and safety across kitchens, toilets, and communal areas.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning preferred but not essential; full training provided.
• Friendly, approachable attitude with good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment while maintaining high standards.
• Willingness to work early shifts Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

• Take pride in completing scheduled cleaning tasks to a high standard.
• Carry out periodic deep cleans as required, keeping environment fresh and hygienic.
• Keep kitchens, toilets, and communal areas clean and presentable.
• Monitor and replenish essential supplies (toilet tissue, soap, consumables).
• Work with security team, report faults, hazards promptly.
• Support the wider team and maintain clean working areas.
• Bring a friendly, professional attitude to create a positive environment.
• Take ownership of responsibilities and be proud of your impact daily.

What you'll do:

• Take pride in your work by completing scheduled cleaning tasks to a consistently high standard.
• Carry out periodic deep cleans as required, helping to keep the environment fresh, hygienic and welcoming.
• Keep kitchens, toilets, communal areas and other facilities clean, tidy and presentable at all times.
• Monitor and replenish essential supplies, including toilet tissue, hand soap and other consumables.
• Work closely with the security team, building positive relationships and reporting any faults, maintenance issues or potential hazards promptly.
• Support the wider team by helping to maintain clean and presentable working areas.
• Bring a friendly, approachable and professional attitude to your work, helping to create a positive environment for residents, colleagues and visitors.

What you bring:

• Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential — full training will be provided, including cleaning products, equipment and health and safety.
• A friendly, approachable attitude with good communication and customer service skills.
