East Staffordshire Borough Council is seeking a part-time Cleaner to maintain cleanliness and hygiene across town buildings in Burton upon Trent. The role covers offices, civic spaces, and event-related cleaning for weddings and civic functions.
The position is 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with start times around 7:00am; some flexibility and optional weekend overtime may be available. An enhanced DBS check is required, and closing applications is 18 September 2026.
Grade 1, SCP 3 – £25,614 per annum (£20,768 pro rata)

A fantastic opportunity has arisen working within East Staffordshire Borough Council as a part-time Cleaner at the Town Hall and Millers Lane Depot. In this role you will be expected to provide an efficient and effective cleaning service, ensuring a high standard of cleaning is delivered and maintained. This will include routine office and civic building cleaning, as well as hospitality and event-related cleaning following functions such as weddings, civic events and other bookings.
You will have experience of cleaning within an organisation, ideally including hospitality, events or function cleaning. You should have an ability to work under own initiative with well-developed time management skills and good organisational skills. You will also have a knowledge of how to use cleaning machinery, and an awareness and commitment to health & safety.

This is a part-time, permanent role of 30 hours per week. Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 7.00 am to 1.00 pm, but some flexibility may be required.
Weekend overtime may sometimes be available on an optional basis, depending on event requirements.
Appointment will be subject to a Basic Level Disclosure & Barring Service check.
