South Tyneside Council are seeking to recruit Casual Cleaners to work across the area due to demands of the Building Cleaning Service, on an as and when required basis. We are looking for reliable and friendly people with a positive attitude. The post will be zero hours, working flexibly from early mornings to evenings. However, there are excellent opportunities to apply for temporary and permanent contracts as they arise.
Working on your own or as part of a team and using your own initiative, daily duties will involve cleaning designated areas such as corridors, classrooms, offices and toilet areas using the required equipment. Whilst working to fixed deadlines, responsibilities include emptying bins, mopping and vacuuming floors so regular stooping, bending and lifting will be required.
