Job summary

Forest of Dean District Council is seeking a reliable Cleaner to cover our offices in Coleford. This casual, flexible role supports the in-house cleaning service and helps maintain a safe, welcoming environment for staff, visitors and customers.

Reporting to the Property and Estates Manager, duties include cleaning offices and common areas, replenishing supplies, and ensuring COSHH compliance. Full UK driving licence and mobility to travel are advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Clean offices and internal building areas to a high standard.
  • Maintain reception areas, offices, kitchens, corridors, stairwells, toilets and showers.
  • Vacuum, mop and perform general cleaning tasks.
  • Replenish consumables (soap, toilet rolls, paper towels, kitchen supplies).
  • Safely use cleaning equipment and products per COSHH guidance.
  • Report low stock, faulty equipment or maintenance concerns.
  • Follow health and safety procedures and safe systems of work.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.

Job description

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Cleaner to provide cover for our in-house cleaning service at our offices in Coleford.

This is a flexible, casual position where hours are offered as required to support service needs. You will play an important role in helping to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for employees, visitors and customers.

What You'll Be Doing

Reporting to the Property and Estates Manager, your duties will include:

  • Cleaning offices and internal building areas to a high standard.
  • Maintaining reception areas, offices, kitchens, corridors, stairwells, toilets and shower facilities.
  • Vacuuming, mopping and carrying out general cleaning tasks.
  • Replenishing consumables such as soap, toilet rolls, paper towels and kitchen supplies.
  • Safely using cleaning equipment and cleaning products in accordance with COSHH guidance.
  • Reporting low stock levels, faulty equipment or maintenance concerns.
  • Following health and safety procedures and safe systems of work at all times.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately.

About You

Additional Requirements

  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Access to a vehicle and ability to travel for work purposes.

Flexibility to work additional hours and at alternative locations when required to meet service needs.
