Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Newbury is seeking a Classroom Assistant to support pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis in a warm, inclusive environment. This full-time role runs 8:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday, term time only, with a daily rate of £95–£110 depending on experience.

You will help develop literacy and numeracy, monitor progress, and contribute to safeguarding and welfare, working closely with teaching staff.

Qualifications

• Experience or willingness to work with children in an educational setting is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with learning on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
• Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours.
• Supporting children with additional learning needs, including SEND.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and creating a calm, inclusive classroom environment.
• Assisting with literacy, numeracy and other curriculum activities.
• Monitoring pupils' progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
• Supporting pupils' social and emotional development where required.
• Adhering to safeguarding, behaviour and health and safety procedures.
