Responsibilities

Provide exciting and challenging learning experiences for pupils.
Follow the school curriculum to support progression and learning journeys.
Monitor, assess, record and report pupil achievement, progress and development.
Provide support to pupils with barriers to learning on a one-to-one basis, in small groups or in class.
Develop and implement individual plans for pupils.
Adjust lessons and/or work plans as appropriate.
Provide objective feedback and reports on pupils’ achievement.
Produce learning resources and collaborate with others.
Deliver local and national learning strategies.
Contribute to policy and procedure development.
Carry out duties efficiently and continue personal development.
Participate in staff appraisal and development process.
Motivate and lead a teaching assistant.

The Governors of St. Aidan’s Catholic Primary School, wish to appoint a professional and committed class teacher to cover maternity leave in a Y2 class.

St. Aidan’s Catholic Primary School is a large, successful, happy school, which enjoys excellent partnerships with parents, Church and the local community. The successful applicant will have proven experience of working with Primary children and have a range of strategies to promote good behaviour and establish a purposeful learning environment. Excellent organisation and communication skills to deal with both children and adults are essential along with the ability to work under supervision and as a team member.

The main duties of the Class Teacher post are as follows:
