Job summary

Selsdon Primary and Nursery School seeks a dedicated teacher with Qualified Teacher Status to join our primary team in Greater London. You will plan and deliver engaging lessons across the primary age range, using assessment to drive progress and maintain high standards of discipline.

You will work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and carers to support every child’s learning journey and contribute to a positive school ethos that promotes achievement.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (or working towards it) as defined by the DfE.
• Evidence of post-initial training professional development.
• Evidence of recent successful class teaching of primary age pupils.
• Excellent understanding of current theory and practice in teaching and learning to raise progress.
• Demonstrable record of raising achievement.
• Sound knowledge of effective assessment strategies.
• Excellent knowledge of the primary curriculum.
• Understanding of high standards of discipline per school policy.
• Equality of opportunity issues addressed in schools.
• Experience of using technology to support learning in the classroom.
• Well-developed oral and written skills.
• Interest in current pedagogical research.
• Ability to plan and implement curriculum as part of a team.
• Relate to and communicate effectively with parents and carers.
• Contribute to a school ethos promoting high achievement.
• Commitment to meet national Teachers’ Standards.
