Job summary

Hawk Hiring is seeking a qualified MOT Tester in Peterborough to join a high-volume independent facility. The role covers Class 4 and Class 7 MOT tests, with pre-MOT checks, minor repairs, and routine servicing in a modern workshop.

Are you a fully qualified MOT Tester looking to join a high-volume, reliable independent facility in Peterborough where your inspection skills are respected and well-compensated?

A busy, well-invested service and repair center in Peterborough is actively recruiting a dedicated MOT Tester (with general servicing duties) to join their modern workshop team. Operating out of a fully equipped multi-bay station, this role focuses on carrying out thorough, compliant DVSA inspections on Class 4 and light commercial vehicles, alongside pre-MOT repair work and routine servicing.

• Conduct strict, accurate Class 4 (and Class 7, if certified) MOT tests in accordance with active DVSA guidelines
• Perform pre-MOT checks, minor fast-fit repairs (brakes, bulbs, wipers, suspension components), and routine servicing
• Communicate test failures, advisory items, and necessary repair recommendations clearly to front-of-house service advisors
• Maintain digital test logs accurately and ensure the MOT bay equipment remains compliant and well-calibrated
• Uphold strict health, safety, and cleanliness standards across the testing area at all times

Candidate Profile

• Active Credentials: Valid DVSA Smart Card / Active MOT Tester Licence (Mandatory)
• Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 / IMI Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent time-served garage background)
• Technical Mindset: Methodical, objective inspector with a commitment to vehicle safety and right-first-time standards
• Requirements: Full UK Driving Licence
