Job summary

Steer Staffing Ltd is hiring 7.5 tonne Delivery Drivers for a distribution company based in Wednesbury. You’ll deliver customer orders to homes and offices, with a Driver’s Mate assisting, and routes planned daily. DBS check required.

Shifts are 5 days on and 3 days off on a rota, with two breaks; 6:30am–6:00pm. Salary is £14.28 per hour with overtime paid after 45 hours. CPC/TACO and Class 2 licences are preferred.

Qualifications

• CPC and TACO qualifications required.
• Class 2 or 7.5t licence required.
• DBS check required.
• Experience in a similar delivery role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Multi-drop deliveries to homes and offices.
• Work with a Driver's Mate to support deliveries.
• Follow delivery routes and pre-call customers before arrival.
• Complete paperwork as required and maintain accurate records.
• Remove all packaging from each delivery.

Job description

Steer Staffing are currently recruiting for 7.5 tonne Delivery Drivers, they are happy to accept new pass Class 2 drivers for this role, its to join a distribution and delivery company based in Wednesbury.

You will be delivering customers orders to their houses and office sites, working with a Drivers Mate to support you on all deliveries route plans are put together for your daily, and your vehicle is pre loaded each morning.

The shifts are 5 days on and 3 days off, the days will be on a rota basis, with two 30-minute breaks, morning, and afternoon.

A DBS check will be required for this role.

The duties of the 7.5 tonne Delivery Driver / Class 2 Driver include:

• Lifting heavy items and completing a multi-drop driving role
• Ensuring the right products get to the right places at the right time
• Following a delivery route
• Pre calling customers before arrival
• Filling in paperwork as and when required
• Removing all packaging from each delivery

The ideal 7.5 tonne Delivery Driver / Class 2 Driver will have:

• Experience within a similar role
• CPC and TACO
• 7.5 ton licence or Class 2 licence or above
• The ability to handle heavy goods
• A clean DBS

The hours of work for the 7.5 tonne Delivery Driver/ Class 2 Driver are 5 days on 3 days off, the working days cover any 5 over Monday - Sunday, you must be available to work between the hours of 6,30am - 6.00pm.

The salary for the 7.5 tonne Delivery Driver/ Class 2 Driver will be £14.28 per hour, any hours over 45 will be paid at time and a half
