The Best Connection is recruiting for a Class 2 HGV Driver to join a dairy business in Preston. This temp-to-perm role starts immediately with a 13-week agency period before potential permanent employment. You will drive 18-tonne and 26-tonne vehicles and ensure reliable service to customers.

Deliveries to wholesalers and hospitals across the North West, with tail lifts and planned routes, require professionalism and good communication during shifts.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 2 (Category C) HGV licence.
• CPC qualification and valid Driver Qualification Card.
• Digital tachograph card.
• Experience with tail lifts is desirable.
• Multi-drop delivery experience advantageous.
• Good physical fitness for manual handling.
• Reliable, punctual and professional.
• Good communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Driving 18-tonne and 26-tonne Class 2 vehicles.
• Making deliveries to wholesalers and hospitals across the North West.
• Operating vehicles fitted with tail lifts.
• Loading and unloading milk cages and trollies.
• Safely moving milk trollies into customer delivery areas.
• Completing multiple deliveries throughout your shift.
• Carrying out vehicle checks before and after shifts.
• Ensuring all deliveries are completed safely and efficiently.
• Providing excellent customer service at each delivery point.
• Following all relevant transport, health & safety and company procedures.

Class 2 HGV Driver - Temp to Perm

Location: Preston / Lancashire area
Salary: £15.50 per hour
Hours: 8 hours per day, job and finish
Working Pattern: 5 days per week, including alternate Saturdays
Contract: 13-week agency period with a view to permanent employment
Start Date: Immediate

The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Class 2 HGV Driver to join a busy family-run dairy business supplying milk to wholesalers and hospitals across Preston, Blackpool, Bolton and Manchester.

This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and hardworking Class 2 driver looking for a long-term position, with the potential to transfer onto the company's permanent books following a successful 13-week agency period.

You will be responsible for delivering milk products to customers using 18-tonne and 26-tonne vehicles, working to a planned delivery schedule while providing a professional and reliable service to customers.

Requirements

• Relevant HGV driving experience
• CPC qualification and valid Driver Qualification Card
• Digital tachograph card
• Previous multi-drop delivery experience would be advantageous
• Experience using a tail lift is desirable
• Good level of physical fitness, as the role involves handling and moving milk trollies and cages
• Reliable, punctual and professional approach
• Good communication and customer service skills

Working Hours & Pay

• £15.50 per hour
• Approximately 8 hours per day
• Job and finish
• 5-day working week
• Alternate Saturdays required

Temp-to-Perm Opportunity

The successful candidate will initially work through the agency for 13 weeks, with the opportunity to transfer onto the company's books on a permanent basis following a successful placement.
