Job summary

Gregory Distribution Ltd is seeking a Class 1 Night Driver to join our network in Coalville. You will operate curtain side trailers, verify freight against manifests, and maintain secure loading while communicating with the Transport Team to ensure excellent service.

This role offers night shifts starting between 21:00 and 23:00, with opportunities for additional certifications, ongoing training, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
• Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Experience delivering loads directly to client sites is advantageous.
• Passionate about providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Operate a curtain side trailer to trunk palletised goods.
• Verify freight against the manifest at each depot stop.
• Gain additional certifications such as LST during employment.
• Ensure goods are loaded, secured and protected.
• Complete daily vehicle safety checks via company device.
• Maintain regular communication with Transport Team and customers.
• Attend ongoing training and development sessions.

About the Role

As a Class 1 Driver, you'll play a key role in the smooth, efficient movement of palletised freight across our network. Your responsibilities will include:

• Operating a curtain side trailer to trunk palletised goods.
• Providing internal trunking support where required, including accurately verifying freight against the manifest at each depot stop.
• Taking advantage of opportunities to gain additional certifications, including LST (Longer Semi-Trailer) during your employment.
• Ensuring all goods are safely loaded, secured, and protected, using straps, nets, and other appropriate securing equipment.
• Completing daily vehicle safety checks via your company mobile device to maintain the highest standards of safety and reliability.
• Maintaining regular communication with the Transport Team, keeping them updated on progress and helping ensure excellent customer service.
• Attending ongoing training and development sessions to stay up to date with industry standards and best practice.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
• Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Experience of delivering loads directly to client sites is advantageous.
