Job summary

Gregory Distribution Ltd is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 driver to collect and deliver goods across the UK on curtain-sided trailers. You will use a handheld PDA for paperwork and stay in contact with the transport team to meet customer expectations.

Nights away are a feature of the role, with ongoing training to stay current with industry standards. The position offers competitive pay, shift premiums for night hours, and opportunities for career development within a growing logistics

Qualifications

• Experience delivering loads directly to client sites is advantageous.

• Good geographical knowledge.

About the Role

As a Class 1 Driver, you will:

• Take on the challenge of collecting and delivering customers' products throughout the UK on a curtain‑sided trailer.
• Master the art of load security with ratchet straps and part manual handling, ensuring every delivery is safe and secure.
• Leverage a handheld PDA to complete paperwork seamlessly and efficiently.
• Keep in constant contact with the transport team, offering updates on your progress and ensuring our customers' expectations are consistently met.
• Experience the thrill of nights away, making each journey unique and fulfilling.
• Engage in regular training sessions to stay updated with the latest industry standards and best practices, continuously improving your skills.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

£38,279pa plus £2.75ph for hours worked between 21:00pm and 04:00am, you will receive £2.75ph for any hours worked on a Saturday and Sunday. Plus £5,005pa tax free night out allowance.

Shift Hours

Various shifts available, 1 required at 06:00am and 1 required at 14:00pm

Overtime

Available on a regular basis.
