Job summary

Gregory Distribution Ltd in Coalville is seeking a Class 1 Driver to move palletised freight across our network. You will operate a curtain-side trailer, verify freight against manifests, and trunk goods between depots.

You must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence with DCPC and Digital Tachograph Card, be a team player, and able to work to deadlines. Night shifts start around 21:00–23:00 with a pay premium and overtime is available.

Qualifications

• Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
• Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Experience of delivering loads directly to client sites is advantageous.
• Passionate about providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Operate a curtain-side trailer to trunk palletised goods.
• Provide internal trunking support where required, including verifying freight against the manifest at each depot stop.
• Opportunity to gain additional qualifications, including LST during employment.
• Ensure all goods are safely loaded, secured, and protected, using straps, nets, and other securing equipment.
• Complete daily vehicle safety checks via company mobile device to maintain safety and reliability.
• Maintain regular communication with the Transport Team, keeping them updated on progress and customer service.
• Attend ongoing training and development sessions to stay up to date with industry standards and best practice.

About The Role

As a Class 1 Driver, you'll play a key role in the smooth, efficient movement of palletised freight across our network. Your responsibilities will include:

• Operating a curtain-side trailer to trunk palletised goods.
• Providing internal trunking support where required, including accurately verifying freight against the manifest at each depot stop.
• Taking advantage of opportunities to gain additional certifications, including LST (Longer Semi-Trailer) during your employment.
• Ensuring all goods are safely loaded, secured, and protected, using straps, nets, and other appropriate securing equipment.
• Completing daily vehicle safety checks via your company mobile device to maintain the highest standards of safety and reliability.
• Maintaining regular communication with the Transport Team, keeping them updated on progress and helping ensure excellent customer service.
• Attending ongoing training and development sessions to stay up to date with industry standards and best practice.
