Job summary

DHL Supply Chain in Wednesbury is seeking a Class 1 Driver for night shifts. You will perform end-to-end driving tasks including deliveries and collections for DHL customers, with start times between 18:00 and 20:00 or 12:00 and 04:00.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, efficient deliveries and collections for DHL customers and networks
• Adhere to start times and transport office instructions
• Complete delivery documentation and PODs accurately in real time
• Ensure load security and compliance with tachograph, WTD, and Highway Code regulations

Position: Class 1 Driver (Nights)
Location: Wednesbury (WS10 7DE)
Shift patterns: Monday-Friday. Start times between 18:00-20:00 and 12:00-04:00
Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)

We're now looking for a Class 1 Driver for the night shift.

A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE

• Provision of first class safe, efficient and customer focused delivery and collection services with DHL's customers and Networks
• Comply with issued start times in line with contractual requirements
• Conduct collections and deliveries in accordance with the plan and/or instructions from the transport office
• Conduct collections and deliveries within the timeframes outlined
• Ensure all delivery documentation and electronic POD's are completed accurately and in real time during a working shift
• Ensure a thorough working knowledge of the regulations under which they operate and in particular the Highway Code & Road Traffic Act 1988, and Road Safety Act 2006
• Operate in line with all legal requirements and ensure full compliance with tachograph and working time legislation
• Ensure the correct and appropriate load security is in place before moving any goods in a vehicle or trailer

THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT PEOPLE WHO

• Hold a valid HGV Class 1 License (C+E), Driver CPC Qualification and Digital Tachograph Card is essential
• Ideally have 12 months recent driving experience
• Happy to conduct travel UK wide
• Excellent communications skills - Verbal and written
• Working understanding of legal requirements, highway code and road traffic act
• Excellent time management skills
• Experience of securing loads within vehicles and/or trailers
• Good geographical knowledge
• Ability to follow operational, legal and H&S procedures
