Job summary

DHL Supply Chain in Bootle, Liverpool is recruiting a Class 1 Driver to join our team. The role involves safe, timely deliveries across the UK with start times between 04:00 and 06:00 and a permanent full-time contract.

The successful candidate will hold a valid HGV Class 1 Licence (C+E), Driver CPC, and Digital Tachograph Card, with ideally 12 months driving experience and good communication skills. On-site parking and a pension scheme are available, and flexible patterns can be discussed at

Responsibilities

• Provision of first class safe, efficient and customer focused delivery and collection services.
• Comply with issued start times in line with contractual requirements.
• Conduct collections and deliveries as per plan and transport office instructions.
• Ensure delivery documentation and electronic PODs are completed in real time.
• Adhere to Highway Code, Road Traffic Act 1988 and Road Safety Act 2006.

Position: Class 1 Driver
Location: Bootle, Liverpool
Shift patterns: Monday-Friday. Start times between 04:00-06:00am
Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)

We're now looking for a Class 1 Driver play a key role ensuring our operations run smoothly and efficiently, delivering goods safely and on time.

A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE

• Provision of first class safe, efficient and customer focused delivery and collection services with DHL's customers and Networks
• Comply with issued start times in line with contractual requirements
• Conduct collections and deliveries in accordance with the plan and/or instructions from the transport office
• Conduct collections and deliveries within the timeframes outlined
• Ensure all delivery documentation and electronic POD's are completed accurately and in real time during a working shift
• Ensure a thorough working knowledge of the regulations under which they operate and in particular the Highway Code & Road Traffic Act 1988, and Road Safety Act 2006
• Operate in line with all legal requirements and ensure full compliance with tachograph and working time legislation
• Ensure the correct and appropriate load security is in place before moving any goods in a vehicle or trailer

THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT PEOPLE WHO

• Hold a valid HGV Class 1 Licence (C+E), Driver CPC Qualification and Digital Tachograph Card is essential
• Ideally have 12 months recent driving experience
• Happy to conduct travel UK wide
• Excellent communications skills - Verbal and written
• Working understanding of legal requirements, highway code and road traffic act
• Excellent time management skills
• Experience of securing loads within vehicles and/or trailers
• Good geographical knowledge
• Ability to follow operational, legal and H&S procedures
