Job summary

Gregory Distribution Ltd is seeking an HGV Driver to join our team in the UK Southwest/Midlands region. You will operate a modern fleet, unload refrigerated vehicles, and deliver to depots with a focus on safety, accuracy, and customer service.

Shift patterns are 5 out of 7 with start times between 15:00 and 18:00. You will benefit from a competitive base salary (£39,236pa) plus an additional £2.75 per hour for night-hours and a strong company culture that supports training and development.

Qualifications

• Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
• Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Experience delivering loads directly to client sites is advantageous.
• Passionate about providing excellent customer service.
• Ability to work to deadlines.
• Confident, polite, and a team player.
• Good geographical knowledge.
• Fit, flexible, hardworking, and self-motivated.

Responsibilities

• Safely unload refrigerated vehicles, typically handling up to three deliveries per day.
• Operate palletised handling equipment, such as pump trucks, or perform trailer swaps depending on the shift schedule.
• Drive a modern, well-maintained fleet of Scania and Volvo vehicles, all under 6 months old.
• Deliver goods to depots across the Southwest and Midlands, adhering to planned schedules and route requirements.
• Provide outstanding customer service, engaging professionally with clients both in person and over the phone to represent the company positively.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with the transport team, offering real-time updates to support smooth operations and manage customer expectations.
• Participate in regular training sessions to stay current with operational procedures, safety standards, and industry best practices.
