Job summary

GI Group are recruiting HGV Class 1 Drivers in York (YO30) for an ad-hoc afternoon shift role. Typical shifts run 1300–2030, from Monday to Friday, with long 12-hour days. PAYE rates are £20.34/hr Mon-Fri, £25.94/hr Sat, £28.95/hr Sun, with holiday pay included.

Responsibilities include vehicle checks, trunking to depots, and delivering safely to customers across the UK while prioritising workload to meet deadlines. Applicants should have 12 months Class 1 experience and valid Tachograph & CPC.

Qualifications

• 12 months experience as a Class 1 Driver.
• Hold a valid tachograph and CPC in date.
• No more than 6 penalty points; no DD/IN/DR/DN/TT endorsements.
• Presentable appearance and positive attitude.

GI Group are currently recruiting multiple HGV Class 1 Drivers in York (YO30) for one of the worlds leading parcel delivery networks.

Drivers shifts:

We are looking for HGV Class 1 Drivers to work afternoon shifts on an ad-hoc basis.

• - 1300-2030 starts
• - Monday to Friday
• - Average 12 hour shift
• - Monday to Friday: - £20.34 per hour *
• - Saturday: £25.94 per hour *
• - Sunday: £28.95 per hour *

* Please note that these pay rates are PAYE and include advanced holiday pay

HGV Class 1 Driver main duties will include:

• - Conducting Vehicle checks
• - Trunking work to depots
• - Delivering safely to customers throughout the UK
• - Prioritising workload to ensure time commitments are met

HGV Class 1 Driver requirements:

• - A presentable appearance, an eye for detail and a positive attitude.
• - No more than 6 penalty points. No DD / IN / DR / DN / TT endorsement codes
• - Hold a valid, in date Tachograph & CPC
• - Must have at least 12 months experience as a Class 1 Driver
