Job summary

Manpower Group (UK) is recruiting Class 1 Drivers for a temporary, ongoing role in Woking (GU21 3BA). The position offers an hourly rate of £22.41–£25.53 with various shifts available and a chance to join a trusted nationwide operation.

You'll operate Class 1 vehicles between distribution centres, perform checks, load/unload, complete paperwork, and stay in close contact with the operations team while adhering to UK road transport legislation and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Valid UK C+E licence andDriver CPC with Tachograph card.
• Minimum 2 years HGV experience in logistics/distribution.
• Sound knowledge of UK road transport legislation and safety.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class 1 vehicle on planned routes between distribution centres and delivery locations.
• Transport mail, parcels and freight efficiently while meeting delivery schedules.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects per procedures.
• Load and unload vehicles safely and secure goods.
• Complete delivery paperwork and electronic records accurately.
• Work independently while communicating with the operations team.
• Follow transport laws, H&S regulations and company policies.

What you'll be doing

• Safely operate Class 1 vehicle on planned routes between distribution centres and delivery locations.
• Transport mail, parcels and freight efficiently while meeting delivery schedules.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects in line with company procedures.
• Load and unload vehicles safely while ensuring the security of all goods.
• Complete delivery paperwork and electronic records accurately.
• Work independently while maintaining excellent communication with the wider operations team.
• Follow all road transport legislation, health and safety regulations and company policies.

What we're looking for

• Valid UK C+E driving licence.
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• No more than five penalty points and no serious driving endorsements.
• 2 years previous HGV driving experience within a logistics or distribution environment.
• Strong understanding of UK road transport legislation and vehicle safety.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Professional, reliable and customer-focused approach.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
